Dr. Arbab Alamgir Khan

Dr. Arbab Alamgir Khan, Federal Minister for Communications was born in Peshawar on 1st July 1961. He did his MBBS from Khyber Medical College Peshawar in 1987. Later he earned a diploma in Internal Medicines from the University of Edinburgh UK.

Dr.Arbab Alamgir Khan belongs to the most well known family of the NWFP "The Arbab family of Tehkal Bala, Peshawar". He is the grandson of late Nawabzada Arbab Sher Ali Khan and son of the late Arbab Muhammad Jehangir Khan who remained Chief Minister of NWFP (1985-88). Arbab Jehangir Khan had never lost any election and remained member of the Federal Assembly and the Provincial Assembly of NWFP. He remained Federal Minister under Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, Mr. Muhammad Khan Junejo and Balkh Sher Mazari as well as Provincial Minister and Leader of the Opposition in the NWFP Assembly.

Other members of his family i.e. Arbab Niaz Muhammad Federal Minister/Mayor of Peshawar, Arbab Sikandar Khan Khalil Governor NWFP and Arbab Saif-ur-Rehman, Speaker Provincial Assembly have also played an important role in public life in NWFP.

Dr. Arbab Alamgir Khan is young and energetic public figure. He is affiliated with the Pakistan People's Party Parliamentarian.
