Ayaz Latif Palijo

Ayaz Latif Palijo (born November 15, 1969) is a Sindhi & Pakistani activist, writer and teacher. He is a symbol of liberal & democratic values and of Sindhi Progressive Nationalism. Ayaz Latif was born in Hyderabad Sindh, to a Baloch mother, the women's rights activist and revolutionary artist Jeejee Zarina Baloch, and a great South Asian leftist father, a legendary theoretician Rasool Bux Palijo. He is one of the leading Human Rights Lawyers of Pakistan. The people of Pakistan admire his courage and commitment to the cause of oppressed and victimized sections of our society. He has done work for victims of honor killing, karo-kari, bonded labor, missing persons, child labor, violence against women amongst others. 
Ayaz Palijo, an outstanding Orator, a successful Lawyer, a creative Writer and a devoted Teacher, is considered as being the first person to introduce the concepts of Human Rights and Public Interest Litigation in rural areas of Pakistan. He is also accredited for securing the release of more than 3500 innocent prisoners from different jails, bonded labour camps, illegal confinements, dar-ul-amans and police lockups. Ayaz Latif's recent activities include launching a strong campaign against the man-made water shortage, child abuse, forced conversion of minority girls and terrorism. He is elected President of Awami Tahreek and the Founder and Convener of Sindh Progressive Nationalist Alliance (SPNA).
