Teizoon Kisat


Mr. Teizoon Kisat is a Chartered Accountant and has held senior management positions for over 16 years. What gives him an edge compared to his peers is his determined resolve and disciplined flexibility which are a wholesome combination vital to achieving results that not only are imperative for current development but also ensure future growth momentum.

Mr. Kisat is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Pakistan. After completing his education and professional training in 1983, he started his career in Premier Accounting firm of Pakistan. Later he joined Accounting firm in Saudi Arabia. He joined Leasing sector in 1995 and was associated with different leasing companies in Pakistan till 2000 when he joined ORIX Leasing Pakistan Limited, the largest leasing company of Pakistan.

Mr. Kisat headed Finance and Accounts, Marketing, Credit, Corporate Secretariat and Operating Lease departments and became Deputy Managing Director of ORIX in 2004. This was a senior level strategic position that involved management of assets and planning and development of future infrastructure of the company. He remained the Chairman of the Leasing Association of Pakistan from 2008 to 2010 and Director of Pakistan Microfinance Network, heading its Finance Committee as Chairman from 2005 to 2010.

Mr. Kisat took over as Managing Director and CEO of ORIX Leasing Pakistan Limited on Ist January 2011. During the year ended June 30, 2011, the Company progressed well and recorded profits before taxes of Rs. 227 millon. ORIX Leasing Pakistan Limited has over 450 employees and has deployed 35 staff members to ORIX associated companies in MENA region including Chief Executives of these companies. ORIX Leasing Pakistan Limited also provides technical services to associated companies in MENA Region.

Dr Tariq Shahab

Dr.Tariq Shahab is a Vascular and Interventional Cardiologist.  He is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Diseases, Internal Medicine, and Interventional Cardiology.  He has also been elected a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and American College of Internal Medicine.
His main interest is in fixing blockages inside coronary arteries without the need for coronary artery bypass surgery.  He believes most blockages can be successfully opened using the technique of angioplasty and stenting.  He has performed hundreds of procedures involving not only one artery but also three vessel or left main coronary artery disease.
Dr. Shahab is also experienced in putting stents in the carotid artery to prevent strokes in patients who have blockages in that important artery.  Presently, the only treatment for carotid artery disease is surgery.  Dr. Shahab has presented the results of carotid artery stenting from more than 600 patients at the annual meeting of the American College of Cardiology.
"Carotid Stenting will be the procedure of choice for carotid artery disease to prevent stroke in the near future." says Dr. Shahab.
Dr.Shahab graduated from Dow Medical College University of Karachi, Pakistan and then came to the United States for further training in cardiovascular diseases.  His Internal Medicine residency training was completed at the University of Michigan Medical Center.  He was awarded Outstanding Resident of the year Award at Michigan and was offered the position of Chief Medical Resident.  His cardiology fellowship training was at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.  He was then selected to be on the faculty at the University of Kentucky.  He is an elected fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and American College of Physician (FACP).  He is also a member of the American Medical Association and American Federation of Clinical Research.  Dr. Shahab was elected to the Board of Directors of the American Heart Association in Kentucky and he is Chairman and Founding Member of the Kentucky Health Educational Campaign.  In Kentucky, he started the School Health Educational Program and he was the Program Director of the International Symposium on Heart Disease, Cancer and Stroke, entitled: "A preventive Approach."
More recently, Dr. Shahab was selected to present a Poster Board and Interesting Case to the world wide annual CRT Meeting 2009 in Washington, DC.

Rasul Bux Palijo


Rasul Bux Palijo is a unique social scientist and a remarkable politician of South Asia whose work must be gauged by the extent to which his predictions are verified by history. In every nation some names stand out as the pioneers of uprisings, revolutions and movements and Rasul Bux Palijo is the most outstanding and exceptional thinker and leader of the twentieth century Sindh and Pakistan. 
Like all great intellectuals, scholars and leaders Palijo has been at times misunderstood, misinterpreted and misjudged not only by his die hard adversaries, but by his admirers as well. Palijo, one of the great original thinker of Sindh, is known as the Quid-e-Inqilab (Leader of Revolution) because of the radical nationalist pursuits with which he has been challenging the rigid mindset of the dictators of his times and because only a powerfully original mind can emancipate itself as completely as Palijo's did from the tyranny of accepted but already obsolescent ideas of south Asian Politics

Noorjehan Bilgrami


Noorjehan Bilgrami is an artist, textile designer and researcher. Her interest in traditional crafts led to the establishment of KOEL, a workshop that pioneered the revival of hand block printed fabrics in Pakistan. She is one of the founders of the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture and was its first Executive Director.
Years of research into ajrak, a traditional Sindhi textile, led to publication of the book Sindh jo Ajrak, and later to the making of the documentary video,Sun, Fire, River, Ajrak - Cloth from the soil of Sindh.
Handloom weaving and natural dyes are now her major interest and she was awarded the Japan Foundation Fellowship in 2001-02 to pursue research on natural indigo in Japan.
Noorjehan curated the exhibition Tana Bana: The Woven Soul of Pakistan in collaboration with Jonathan Mark Kenoyer at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in 1998; the exhibition later travelled to the Pacific Northwest College of Art, Portland, Oregon, the Pacific - Asia Museum, Pasadena, California and Mingeikan, the Japan Folk Craft Museum, Tokyo. A comprehensive bilingual exhibition catalogue documenting the traditional textiles of Pakistan was produced in 2004 when the exhibition travelled to the prestigious Mingeikan.
She has travelled extensively and lectured at universities and museums in the United States, Scandinavia and Japan and has written numerous articles for international journals.

Ayaz Latif Palijo

Ayaz Latif Palijo (born November 15, 1969) is a Sindhi & Pakistani activist, writer and teacher. He is a symbol of liberal & democratic values and of Sindhi Progressive Nationalism. Ayaz Latif was born in Hyderabad Sindh, to a Baloch mother, the women's rights activist and revolutionary artist Jeejee Zarina Baloch, and a great South Asian leftist father, a legendary theoretician Rasool Bux Palijo. He is one of the leading Human Rights Lawyers of Pakistan. The people of Pakistan admire his courage and commitment to the cause of oppressed and victimized sections of our society. He has done work for victims of honor killing, karo-kari, bonded labor, missing persons, child labor, violence against women amongst others. 
Ayaz Palijo, an outstanding Orator, a successful Lawyer, a creative Writer and a devoted Teacher, is considered as being the first person to introduce the concepts of Human Rights and Public Interest Litigation in rural areas of Pakistan. He is also accredited for securing the release of more than 3500 innocent prisoners from different jails, bonded labour camps, illegal confinements, dar-ul-amans and police lockups. Ayaz Latif's recent activities include launching a strong campaign against the man-made water shortage, child abuse, forced conversion of minority girls and terrorism. He is elected President of Awami Tahreek and the Founder and Convener of Sindh Progressive Nationalist Alliance (SPNA). 

Dr Amin A Gadit


Dr Amin A. Gadit, Graduated from Dow Medical College in 1984, completed internship from Civil Hospital Karachi, after getting through Sindh Public Commission, was appointed as a lecturer in Physiology in Sindh Medical College, and meanwhile passed MCPS from College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan in 1987 in the subject of community medicine. In order to pursue a career in Psychiatry, went to the Republic of Ireland and followed a Post Graduate training program for a period of 5 years. His PG Qualifications are: MRCPsych (London), FRCP (Ireland), PhD (UK), Board Certification in Psychiatry (London), DPM (Ireland), and DCP (Ireland), MCPS (PK). 
He worked as Assistant Professor of Psychiatry in Baqai University Pakistan, as Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Hamdard University Pakistan, was appointed as full Professor in November 2001 and Vice-Principal Hamdard College of Medicine. In September 2004, he went to Canada to take up a position as a Consultant Psychiatrist with River Valley Health Region 3 in Fredericton, New Brunswick. He was appointed as full Professor with tenure at Memorial University of Newfoundland Canada, in February 2006 and working in this capacity since that time.

Javed Hashmi


Makhdoom Javed Hashmi was born on January 1, 1948 in Makhdoom Rashid, Multan, Punjab. He was elected to the National Assembly, for his fifth term as MNA, on a PML(N) seat. He is currently serving as Acting President of the PML(N), and is the Parliamentary Party Leader in the National Assembly.
An agriculturist by profession, he completed his M.A in Political Science and M.A in Philosophy from University of the Punjab. He was previously elected to the National Assembly for the terms of 1985-1988, 1990-1993, 1993-1997, and 1997-1999. He has also served as Federal Minister for Health in 1997. Earlier he served as a Minister of State for Youth Affairs.
Married with six daughters, Makhdoom Javed Hashmi has traveled to the Middle East, U.S.A, and Europe. His hobbies include reading, walking and following news and current affairs.

Muhammad Bilal Sheikh

Mr. Muhammad Bilal Sheikh assumed the charge of President & CEO of Sindh Bank on November 1, 2010. Mr. Sheikh is a seasoned banker with over 44 years of diversified experience in banking. His last assignment before joining Sindh Bank Limited was that of President & Chief Executive Officer, mybank Limited. Prior to that, Mr. Sheikh also served as President & CEO, PICIC Commercial Bank Ltd., Deputy Managing Director PICIC Corporation Limited and Chairman National Development Finance Corporation (NDFC).

Mahvash Waqar


Mahvash Waqar is a Pakistani artist and current band member of the Laal Band. She is the backup vocalist for the band.  She has also been famous for a stint on the radio network as a RJ.
Mahvash studied Textile designing from the National College of Arts in Lahore, Pakistan. She had a keen interest in music from the beginning. So, instead of continuing her studies she decided to join what was then a very new phenomenon of FM radio stations.
Mahvash began her music career in early 2007 when she decided to be a part of the newly formed Laal Band along with Haider RehmanAamirAsifSalman and Jamal.  The band was formed in response to the 2007 sacking of judges by then President Pervez Musharraf.
Mahvash has played backup vocals for Laal band's debut album, Umeed e Sahar.

Javed Anwar Khan


Mr. Javed Anwar Khan is currently serving as Secretary in Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP). He is a BS 21 officer of Secretariat Group and has vast experience of dynamics of international trade; 

supply chain issues; international & local marketing & branding of Pakistani products; issues arising out of World Trade Organization, and Intellectual Properties etc.



He has remained a pivot in the promotion of exports and enhancing the trade ties of Pakistan while putting more than 31 years of service in the offices of Chief Controller of Imports and Exports and Export Promotion Bureau.


Mr. Javed Anwar Khan was also the Member of Fish Inspection Committee for the approval of Fish Processing Units for export from Pakistan to International Markets. He successfully coordinated with Marine Fisheries Department and Karachi Fish Harbour Authority for implementation of Turtle Excluder Device Regulation of USA for conservation of sea turtles, and removal of ban on seafood for export from Pakistan to European Union 


His highly successful tenure in Export Promotion Bureau / Trade Development Authority of Pakistan saw the inception of Expo Pakistan in 2005 and subsequent management upto 6th edition of the this mega event. 
Mr. Javed Anwar holds Masters Degree in Zoology with specialization in Fisheries. He has attended numerous training courses / seminars and workshops on international trade & commerce.

Salim Abbas Jilani

A Masters in Public Administration from the prestigious JFK School of Government, Harvard University, USA, Mr. Jilani joined Civil Service of Pakistan in 1957. He has the singular distinction of having held the most coveted positions in Pakistan including Principal Secretary to Prime Minister, Chairman of Pakistan International Airlines, Civil Aviation Authority, Fauji Foundation, Pakistan Steel, Karachi Electric Supply Corporation, Rice Export Corporation of Pakistan, Pak-Arab Refinery Limited (PARCO), Chief Secretary of Sindh and Balochistan and Federal Minister for Defence and Defence Production, Government of Pakistan. 
His last posting before assuming the chairmanship of SSGC was as Secretary, Defence, Government of Pakistan which he held for seven years. W idely respected in political, business, agricultural, military and bureaucratic circles all over Pakistan, Mr. Jilani hails from Muzaffargarh district of Punjab. 
He is also Master in Political Science from the Punjab University, Lahore having graduated cum laude from there. Mr. Jilani retired from public service in November 1996 after an unblemished marathon career.
